My iPod is not being detected by Froddle Pod, What can I do?

First check the Froddle Pod supported iPod's list on the Features page and ensure that your iPod is supported. If your iPod is supported then it may not be set to disk use mode in iTunes. To set disk use mode connect your iPod and launch iTunes. In iTunes click on your iPod in the left hand pane and on the Summary tab for that iPod select the 'Enable disk use' checkbox. Froddle Pod should now be able to detect your iPod. We also recommend not running iTunes while Froddle Pod is running, So uncheck the 'Open iTunes when this iPod is connected' checkbox and CHECK the 'Manually manage music and videos' checkbox if you haven't already done so. If iTunes is not installed then this issue shouldn't occur.

What does normalizing my iPod/Folder/Media do? Normalization of audio files is the process of making them the same volume to the human ear. If you currently have a collection of audio files obtained from various sources you may notice that the volume varies from file to file. Normalizing such a collection would correct the volume of each file to be the same, this means no more adjusting the volume on your iPod everytime the song changes. This feature can be used to normalize individual audio files, an entire folder of music files or every audio file on the currently connected iPod.

If I normalize files/folders seperately will they all still have the same volume?

Yes. Froddle Pod uses a fixed volume level that it adjusts all music files to, so no matter what collection of music files you normalize they will always be set to that volume.

How long does normalizing a collection of audio files take?

Obviously it depends on the size of the collection and the length of each individual audio file. It takes roughly 10 seconds per file. So normalizing a large collection of audio files can take quite a while. If you have a large collection of audio on your iPod we recommend kicking the process off before going to bed. You can however use other applications while froddle pod is normalizing a collection of audio files, but you might notice a loss of performance in your other applications.

I started normalizing a large collection of audio files, but then half way through I accidentally kicked the power cable out of my PC (or insert any other interruption to the process here). Does that mean I have to start over again?

No. Just normalize the same collection of audio files (or your iPod) again and Froddle Pod will automatically kick off where it left off.

The Player won't play some video files, or I can hear the sound of a video file but the screen is black, what's wrong?

The player only supports .mp4 videos not Quicktime .mov format videos. If you are having trouble playing .mp4 videos then please ensure you have an appropriate video codec installed that supports .mp4 files.
